Traditional Physical Education (PE) in Kuwaiti secondary schools often faces challenges with student engagement and the practical application of learned concepts. This proposal outlines the development and planned pilot implementation of an innovative STEAM-Based Physical Education curriculum designed to address these issues. By integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics into PE, the proposed curriculum aims to enhance students' physical skills, promote critical thinking and creativity, foster collaboration, and deepen their understanding of the scientific and artistic dimensions of physical activity. The research will involve developing five interdisciplinary curriculum units, which will then be submitted for expert validation. Following this, a pilot study is proposed for implementation in selected Kuwaiti public secondary schools. The methodology will detail participant selection, teacher training, data collection instruments (including surveys, performance assessments, and technological tools), and data analysis procedures. Expected outcomes include increased student engagement, improved physical and cognitive skills, and a more holistic learning experience. This proposal also addresses the need for cultural adaptation within the Kuwaiti context and outlines potential challenges and mitigation strategies. The findings are anticipated to provide valuable insights for PE teachers, curriculum developers, and policymakers in Kuwait, offering a practical framework for modernizing PE and equipping students with 21st-century skills.
